About Us
Launched 35 years ago by Jim Welker, Products for Progress, Inc offers an attractive alternative to the typical contractor, engineering firm, and manufacturer’s representative organization. Since its beginning, PFP was established to provide new equipment and process solutions to address the ever changing industries in their individual markets. We have provided hundreds conceptual designs for process improvements that have helped companies make well informed business decisions.
Jim has a BS degree in Ag Engineering from Kansas State University and worked for the University for 5 years following graduation. Jim then joined Farmland Industries and was responsible for $250+M in the design/construction for grain, feed, and fertilizer facilities. While at Mac Equipment he worked with food, pet food, chemical, plastics, wood, and other industries designing pneumatic conveying, mixing blending, and dust control operational processes. He has also completed his hazardous waste training and been involved in environmental audits.
Jim's son, Ryan, joined the company in 2016 and established an office in Newton, KS in addition to our LaCygne office. Ryan has completed a BS in Milling Science and Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University. He has worked in the flour milling industry prior to joining PFP. He brings expert application knowledge of the equipment we represent.
We both are looking forward to providing our services to you and your company. Let us be part of your team to solve your next material handling issue.
